I just made a review for an excellent restaurant that we ate at on vacation and realized that I need to review my favorite restaurant in the world (41 states and 11 countries so far). Hands down the best within 25 miles, and the best in the world for me because of consistency. I've been here 150-200 times since 1994, and always it has been very good, majority of the time it's excellent. Doesn't matter what I get, the flavor is great, the preparation is spot on and the presentation is wonderful. The staff is pleasant and the atmosphere is perfect. The husband is the chef and the wife handles the deserts and front of the house, which I believe is what makes this place. The personal stake they have in every dish/diner experience. From the fresh bread to the in house deserts and everything in between, you will not be disappointed. Thank you Karen and Chino.

Everything here was a 10! My husband has been telling me about this place for 10 years and trying to take me there. We just don't make it to Seaford that often. It was worth the trip! From the bread and butter, the poached clams, the French onion soup, the fish and vegetables, the seafood Alfredo, and the peanut butter ice cream dessert, everything was a 10! I can't wait to take friends here.

It feels like something is missing in our life since the renovations started. This restaurant has become our only go to place. We might be considered “ regulars” and if so it is because it is always a wonderful experience. Excellent food, friendly hostess( dear Karen) , competent and friendly staff EVERY SINGEL TIME. Really looking forward to the reopening.

About Us

Growing up in Peru, Chino learned the importance of being creative with the limited supplies available, without compromising quality or freshness--a lesson heavily instilled in him by his mother. It is a country known for its melting pot culture, blending a variety of cuisines to create regional delicacies. After coming to America to live in New York, Chino proceeded to work his way up from a potato-peeler. He was employed as a chef for over 20 years and even assisted in opening several restaurants before opening Bon Appetit with Karen in 1991.

Through these various influences, Chino has perfected the art of blending foods from various cultures, including French, German, Incan, Chinese, Japanese, and Swiss. Making all soups and sauces with stock from scratch, with the assistance of his sous-chef, consistent quality is guaranteed. From Tuesday until close on Saturday, Chino cooks every single meal that leaves the kitchen, personally ensuring the high-quality taste we are known for here at Bon Appetit.

Karen was raised in New York, where she studied at the Culinary Institute of America before meeting Chino through a mutual employer. Combining her education with her many years of experience, Karen is meticulous in piecing together every facet of the dining room. Her passion can be seen throughout Bon Appetit from the fresh flowers set at each table to the french-inspired decor in the dining room. This attention to detail also extends to the kitchen, where she prepares desserts and salad dressings from scratch. With an experienced wait staff following her lead, every customer who walks through the doors will be welcomed to the Bon Appetit family.
